Fosstastic Scenery

We arrived at Reykjavik early 9.00 on a Sunday morning, instantaneously picked up a rental car from the airport and headed off on our way. It didn't take long after leaving the Reykjavik city area for the scenery to take a new gear and switch from landscape to majestic cliffs and great green plains. We soon noticed – both from the scenery and the road signs – that a recurring natural element in Iceland are the tremendous waterfalls, "Foss" in Icelandic. The Fosses varied from large to small along the way but all delighted with their sparkling, refreshing beauty.
